from Sastra

Since a guru is supposed to be one who reveals the Supreme Truth, anyone who regularly lies and obscures the truth for whatever reason, should not be accepted as a bone fide guru. How such a person could actually "reveal" the Absolute Truth, is contradictory.

Satyam and arjavam, truthfullness and honesty, are some of the divine qualities of the brahmanas, as stated in the Bhagavad-gita 18.42. Therefore one who misrepresents the truth, according to Krishna Himself, cannot be a brahmana, what to speak of being a guru.

No one lies in the first place, unless they are trying to hide something - hide the truth, hide something that perhaps they don't want others knowing about.

After reading the accounts in this website, of the person under examination, one can only wonder, why would this person, a GBC leader in ISKCON, lie? Isn't a devotee and guru, supposed to be always straight-forward in all their dealings? Srila Prabhupada says that being straight-forward is the qualification of a brahmana or devotee, and thay are always willing to tell the truth, even to an enemy. For those in the sannyasa order of life, Srila Prabhupada says that "they have no private life" and that their life is "an open book". No room here for lying, according to sastra, according to Srila Prabhupada.

Although a devotee always has compassion for those under the spell of the illusory energy, he is always wary and alert not to be cheated. In the history of ISKCON, there have been many gurus who have fallen sway to maya's potency. A repeat of history or the loss of some of our spiritual leaders should therefore come as no surprise. After all, Srila Prabhupada says, we are in "maya's camp".

Being a real guru is not cheap, and it demands that one be very strict. There can be no discrepancy in one's character. That is why we can always depend on His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada, and have full trust in him, the spotless pure devotee. There was never any discrepancy in his character. His character is the standard for all future devotees or gurus to follow.

There are many instances where Srila Prabhupada would tell his followers to boldly expose rascals and cheaters. This is because he was always dedicated to the "truth", and the Absolute Truth.

When someone within the ISKCON GBC leadership appears to be following a pattern of deceipt and cheating, it has become a dificult thing to rectify, because of no accountability system in the GBC.

More painful and damaging however. is to look the other way and let many innocent devoteees become victims to the deviation such of a conditioned soul, especially if that someone is posing and advertising himself as a guru.

"If you want, I can cultivate your more affluent congregational members".

This was a parting statement given to us by Romapada Swami, the very first and only time we had invited him to come and visit and speak at our Tucson temple.

I was a bit confused at the time, why he made such a remark. At first I thought that maybe he was or thinks himself more qualified to nurture the spiritual life of our upper class members, than we who had started the temple and were giving the regular lectures and attracted such persons in the first place. Now in retrospect, and after disappointed interactions later experienced with this person called Romapada Swami, I think his remark back then, encoded some of his personal ambitions and questionable character, and ways he tries to get money from the public, alledgedly for himself.

In 1996, I started the Phoenix ISKCON temple, and in just  some short months, we had gathered enough laxmi to purchase one of the nicest ISKCON properties in North America. It wasn't too long after, that Romapada started to visit. As I had heard of some rumors about some of his questionable financial behavior, and now that he was coming to the Phoenix temple and I was to present him to our congregation as a bone fide guru, I decided to pose some questions to him. I sent him an email asking him to answer about seven questions, such as:

Do you have your own private bank account and according to some complaints by devotees, have millions of dollars in it? Do you lend money to temples and/or devotees and ask to be paid back with interest? Do you have your own private non-profit organization?

In answer to my email, he had replied "no" to every point of questionable activites. Unfortunately, I soon found out that he was NOT being totally honest. In regards to the questions I asked him about his personal financial accounting (he even had told my wife Sandamini,  that he couldn't sleep last night because of my email being on his mind), he denied that he has millions or that he had any bank account in his own name, or that he regularly lends money out to temples or individuals, charging the entity or person interest like a bank loan.

However, my godbrother Locanananda das, had just  called me from New York only a few days after my email to Romapada, and said that he personally saw the legal paper work for a loan of $90,000 Maharaj lent to the Brooklyn temple some  years back. He even gave me the name of a lawyer Romapada delt with in drawing up the contract, so that I could confirm it if I wanted to. The question to myself was, then why is he lying? Looking back over the many years I have known Romapada, I had often wondered, why many times this individual had this odd habit of very noticably not looking you in the eye when he talked to you. He would often look to the side of you. Hmm.

So anyway, I then fowarded this information and correspondence about Romapada's financial lending and other discovered activities to the GBC Executive Committee Chaiman, who at the time said that the GBC Executive Committee in Mayapur was interested in following up on this querie. Within a week, while I was sitting in my car otside of the city of Chicago, I got a call from Romapada. He told me that he had forgotten about that New York loan, but that that was all, and he guaranteed that he did not ever give anyone money loans after that.

Again however, within a few weeks, I found out and confirmed from the temple president of Hartford temple, that Romapada had lent them also some money, $20,000, and that the temple had to pay back the loan with interest. The loan was given to the Hartford temple AFTER the N.Y. one.

So why was Romapada being deceitful about all this? Was it because he didn't want legal authorities to know that he was lending money "under the table", without declaring it to the government or paying taxes on it (which would be illegal)? Was it because he knew that a sannyasi is not supposed to be dealing in such things and that it would not look good in the eyes of the devotees, disciples, what to speak of the GBC?

ANOTHER SAGA BY ROMAPADA - fraud, deception

Later on, sometime in 2007, Romapada Swami orchastrated a "coup" to take over  the Phoenix temple. Rather than become popular with the congregation by his own purity and preaching, he had Kuladri das lie to the secretary of the temple Board of Directors saying that the present GBC wants to resign, and lied to the Phoenix GBC Hridayananda Goswami, saying that the Board of Directors does not want him to be GBC any more. He then put a proxy from Seattle in as both the GBC AND temple president, Hari Vilas das. Later one of Romapada's own disciples was posted as the temple president. All this was carried out, deceptively and dishonestly, and without concern for proper GBC procedure and protocol.

I made objections to the NA GBC EC, but no one would respond to my complaints. Hridayananda Maharaj also made complaints, but the NA GBC EC went their crooked way, breaking all rules of the GBC in how to change the management. Tamohar das was the NA GBC EC chairman at the time. A transcript or copy of the conversations between an irate and disappointed Hridayananda and the NA GBC EC member Badrinarayan das, was discovered and posted publicly. However, no justice was ever served by the GBC upon these NA GBC individuals for conceit and dereliction of GBC duty.

Truthfulness seems to be gone in the GBC dealings today, an apparent quality and erosive presence of Kali Yuga in GBC management. And, it is being accepted by the entire GBC body! Otherwise, any GBC member would know that it is their sworn duty to uphold the spiritual principles that govern this ISKCON Society, and no kind of deception in GBC management would be allowed, especially for another GBC's personal agenda - deceptively taking over a temple and congregation for his own financial gain and disciple-making base.

The Phoenix temple congregation today is in great discord, despite Romapada's advertisement to others that it is doing wonderfully, 25 innocent Indian congregational devotees have been banned from visiting the temple, for their raising concerns about financial impropriety in the temple management and their concern of mistreatment of a life member.

One of the members, a 75 year old Indian devotee, who had been coming to the temple since its beginning in 1996, was even threatened by GBC man Hari Vilas das, that he would break the man's legs if he ever tried to come back to the temple. NO PUBLIC GBC APOLOGY HAS BEEN OFFERED TO THIS DEVOTEE UP UNTIL NOW, and the ban on the devotees along with their families and children, still remains.

By doing nothing about this injustice levied against some members of the Phoenix temple congregation, members of the GBC are acknowledging that these kind of gunda tactics are now acceptable, if they help the GBC achieve their personal ends. Such behavior in the GBC is deplorable, and Srila Prabhupada would most likely ask for the resignation of those behind such behavior.

From all his actions in regards to the ISKCON Phoenix temple, I sincerely believe  that Romapada has come to Phoenix to cheat the Indian families of their money. Bottom line! Otherwise why all the deception?

To promote himself, and promote more deception. As I do not see how a person who appears from all revelations as listed here on this website, to be a pathological liar, can be a bone fide guru, I also believe that he has come to Arizona to cheat the spiritual life of many innocent and good Indian people.

The readers of this website would be doing a service to the innocent members of the Indian community, by getting the word out to the public and all their friends about Romapada's unethical behavior and deception.

Please don't be discouraged. There are many very good and honest devotees in ISKCON. Unfortunately however, ISKCON's top management level, the GBC, has absolutely no oversight or accountability to answer to, outside themselves and those they hand pick for any kind of investigation of complaints. So the corruption illustrated here, and elsewhere also, goes on, and on, with no remedy in sight. In fact, as many complaints of similar abuses of GBC power come into their office, they have become expert in ignoring them.

Srila Prabhupada often told stories of how the Vedic kings, the rajarshis, would hold public court to everyone and anyone, who could come to the king personally and lodge any complaint. THAT is good management! This kind of openness and concern would be showing a GBC that is actually interested in becoming free of corruption.

They are not the only brahmanas in ISKCON, and they are duty bound to be accountable, to all! All of us, GBC members included, have to remember the saying, "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely". We are nothing but the humble servants of His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada, and there is absolutely no question what he would want the GBC to do.

So to the members of the GBC, I would suggest, as Srila Prabhupada always said and ordered - "do the needful!"

Dasarath das: What if any comments could you make about Romapada?

Answer by Guru Prasad Swami: "Well I will say this. Romapada Swami is very ambitious."

(Guru Prasad Swami, was the original GBC man of Arizona including Phoenix, for 20 years.

Guru Prasad Maharaj said he was deposed as the GBC there because he did not "fit their mold.")

"While I was his personal servant, one day he had left his personal bank account ledger out. When I looked at it, I saw that Romapada had millions of dollars in a personal account under his karmi name of Brian Rumbaugh. I am not the only one who saw this. A godsister of mine who was also Romapada's seretary, also saw his check book.                      - Samba Das, New York devotee who was subsequently bannded from the N.Y. temple

*NOTE: Fraud, embezzelment of funds (especially from a non-profit and religious organization), and tax evasion, are considered  felonies in the United States, PUNISHABLE BY FINES AND/OR IMPRISIONMENT! They are a disqualification for being a bone fide member of the GBC, guru, etc., if indeed Romapada Swami is guilty of such crimes.

"I had my bout with the leadership in NA and saw a great lack of sensitivity and understanding on their part. I have been thus tryng to keep to myself as much as possible to avoid future letdowns."

"Financial accountability and transparency among our ISKCON leaders is being discussed in our GBC meetings more and more. Your points are valid. Regarding the particular case you mentioned, I could bring it to the attention of our standing sannyasa sub committee.

I see no problem in discussing this with Maharaja. Hoping this meets you in good health."

                                           - Yhs, AC.Bhaktivaibhava Swami, GBC chairman,

                                                                                          email from April 2006

  - fraud, negligence, dishonesty

Recently, a financial audit on the Phoenix ISKCON temple accounts, and the private and business accounts of the temple president and her husband (Praibha and Ramesh Somaiya, aka/ Prema Dharti devi and Madhava Hari das) was executed, according to NA GBC EC chairman Nityananda das.

A public statement was then sent out after their investigation was supposedly complete, with two NA GBC members Badrinarayan Swami and Nityananda das, stating that there was absolutely no signs of misappropriation of funds or foul play, and that their audit had shown that the Somaiyas were as “clean as a whistle.”
Later however, it was discovered by the newly formed GBC Corruption Investigation Committee head, Jagajivan das, that the audit was stopped by Hari Vilas, and that the investigation was deemed “inconclusive” by the auditor.

This contradiction reveals that the NA GBC EC statement, that all accounts were in order, was directly a deliberate misinformation of the actual truth, and is yet another example how certain members of the GBC believe that it is acceptable to use instruments of corruption to achieve their agenda.

When Jagajivan das asked the Phoenix GBC Hari Vilas, why was the audit discontinued, he replied that too much time and money was already spent on it.

This lack of honesty in NA GBC EC communication to the public and to the international GBC body, seems to show a deliberate cover-up of the temple finances and alleged money laundering, that may be going on between the temple money and private funds of Mr. and Mrs. Somaiya.

Whether or not the Somaiyas actually did some "funny" business with the temple funds, for the local GBCs of North America to cover-up and lie to both the devotees, the public, and to the GBC body itself, is unacceptable behavior, and is corruption in progress.

Members of the temple congregation are entitled to see where their donations are going, by regular audits of the temple. Transparency of funds of an ISKCON temple are also standard ISKCON GBC policy.

Although requested by a few members, the NA GBC EC chairman, Nityananda das, refused to show the audited investigation report, stating that it was privileged GBC information.

We therefore encourage a continuing of the audit investigation and oversight by a non-GBC committee, for transparency and integrity, as well as an investigation of the cover-up by NA GBCs.

THE AUTOCRAT - dishonesty, corruption

"In the early 80's, Romapada Swami made the sole decision to sell a property owned by the Boston temple, for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Romapada had claimed that the decision to sell the property had rested with him, as the property and the money had come from his direct preaching. The temple management was very disturbed at the time. Niranjan was the TP. The property was sold and the money disappeared with Romapada Swami. This event was enough to break my faith in the GBC, and as a result I left the Movement."

ROMAPADA'S SLICK HEISTING OF THE TOWACO TEMPLE TREASURY - greed, no accountability, overstepping power of a GBC, indifference to following GBC management rules

No proper protocol followed, as Romapada overrides their temple legal authority structure, namely the legitimate Board of Directors, with his own monopoly game; TP alarmed, resigns. The following letter by Romapada to the Towaco temple president reveals his modus operandi.

March 14, 2007
Dear Samik Rsi Prabhu,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Per our discussion of Sunday evening, March 12th, I am putting in writing a more precise and formal description of what I communicated at that time.
In the history of ISKCON of NJ, it will be a very rare event that major financial expenditures of the magnitude of the proposed move to a new temple location will take place. As the GBC of NJ, I want to provide the proper level of financial and managerial oversight a GBC Zonal Secretary should exhibit, to ensure that we make the fewest mistakes AND to ensure that we get the best possible outcome, for the sake of our ISKCON followers in the current timeframe, as well as for generations to come. To achieve the above, for the duration of this new temple project, I am hereby appointing a "New Temple Committee" which will directly represent me. They derive their authority from the GBC Zonal Secretary, and they are directly answerable to me. They are to function and interface with you in the following manner.

* New Temple Committee: members shall be Nilmani das, Ramacandra das, and Santosh Shanbhag. They may also involve Banke Bihari das, as circumstance dictates.
* New Temple Committee's Roles & Resonsibilities:
~ Review and Approve All Major Financial Transactions including Budgeting and Fund Raising.
~ Review and Approve all communications with external authorities including Township, Lawyers and any other Companies or Organizations.
~ Work together with Samik Rsi Prabhu to collectively draw up plans for layout, construction, internal and external appearance, quality of materials, choice of labor selected to perform the construction, and other significant decisions in pursuit of our goals.
~ Ensure that the wishes of the congregation at large and the GBC are taken into due consideration in these plans.
~ Ensure that appropriate communications with the local neighbors takes place.
~ Keep the local GBC Zonal Secretary informed at least on a weekly basis as to the progress, plus any issues or broader topics that may need direct input from the GBC.
~ Discuss, agree and abide by all communications and announcements regarding the

project to be made outside the committee group, including who should be informed, what information should be communicated and the format of the communication.
* With the aim of being very clear in this communication, it may be helpful to both you and the New Temple Committee to know the explicit Hot Spots which I wish the New Temple Committee and yourself to closely monitor, and combinedly honor.
~ Do not bypass the GBC on critical decisions.
Example: Who will become legal owners of the property; 'Names and wording on the deeds and contracts'.
~ Do not bypass rules and regulations of local county or township.
~ No autonomous decisions on what I and/or the New Temple Committee representing me would consider to be "major aspects" Examples: Major Financial Expenditures; Planning and New Temple Layout
I request you to duly inform the full Board of Directors of the formation of the New Temple Committee. Can you please inform me when this is done? I want to remind you of one additional item which we discussed. In the time frame of mid-July/August I intend on making a comprehensive evaluation of the current structure of our "doing business" in Towaco, what structure might be the best for the duration of the construction of the new temple, and what structure we want to aim for after the construction is completed. I will do this with the assistance of 2 other GBC members. Please plan your travel accordingly. Your presence will be imperative.
I certainly wish you and the Temple all success with generating a magnificent success in this endeavor to provide the Deities with a new temple and the congregation with an expanded place of worship. All of the above is in pursuit of these goals. You have my full encouragement and well-wishes for maximum success.
yours in service to Srila Prabhupada,
Romapada Swami

COMMENT: Please note commands of Romapada (highlighted in in bold YELLOW for emphasis).
First of all, there was no vote by the temple Board of Directors, whether or not to install a new financial team overseeing theTowacco Temple. Romapada Swami, on his own authority, decides that now all the money of the temple will be controlled by him! Dr. Samik Rsi and his temple financial team were already fully and well qualified and up to the task to handle the organization and incoming laxmi for building the $8 million temple. They all have professional backgrounds. Nor was there any previous case in the temple history, of money misappropriation under their management. RS move to monopolize and centralize the finances of the temple thru him, were done without proper procedure, and the TP Samik Rsi was very concerned at the time. One might add, there is NO accountability of this GBC person, and he just took over the temple hundi - potentially millions of dollars!

“GBC does not mean to control a center. GBC means to see that the activities of a center go on nicely. I do not know why Tamala is exercising his absolute authority. That is not the business of GBC. The president, treasurer and secretary are responsible for managing the center. GBC is to see that things are going nicely but not to exert absolute authority. That is not in the power of GBC. Tamala should not do like that." - letter to Giriraj, London, August 12, 1971

In other words, Romapada's meddling in the temple management of funds is UNAUTHORIZED (according to Srila Prabhupada) and makes him very suspect.

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Sri Sri Radha Govinda and Srila Prabhupada.

My name is Arjuna dasa from Vrndavan Gurukula. I went to Vrindavan gurukula from 1987 to 1996. And in my-9-years of experience, I enjoyed most of the time and don't have many complaints or regrets of any kind of serious abuse. In 1996, I graduated from Vrindavan gurukula and as a preaching exercise, I was sent to serve under Romapada Swami in NY temple. I did not have the best time with him and I felt seriously abused. Below is a detailed story. Right now, I have left the temple and I am working outside. Although I do not like the outside world, I don't have a choice in this matter because the only home we thought we had has been treating us badly. This letter mainly answers questions that many of my friends, teachers and well- wishers have regarding me giving up my sankirtan service at the temple. It's sad for them to see me turn away from Krishna's temple even though in the past I told them how much I loved the NY temple.

Detailed account: New York 1996

As soon as I came to New York, I was given the service of going out on Book Distribution with another gurukuli friend of mine, Uttamabhakta from Mayapur Gurukula. While we two went out on Sankirtan, Uttamabhakta's brother was given the service of cooking for Romapada Swami. So, there were three of us altogether. Our program was that we would do the whole morning program, eat breakfast by 9:00 AM, get- ready to hit the streets of New York City by 9:45 - 10:00 AM. There was a devotee who used to regularly drop us off. But Maharaj never arranged for anyone to pick us up on regular and timely bases. This was frustrating because we were new to this country. The problem didn't stop here.

If we made it back to the temple on time, there would be prasadam, but if we came by 6:00 or 6:30 PM, we would be out of sheer luck as well as prasadam.

This was tolerable to some extent. The worse part of all this was when it was time to do our laundry. We would be tired from a whole day's sankirtan and when it came time to get a few quarters to wash our laundry, these were the words of Romapada Swami, "Why do you boys need to use the washing machines? How did you guys do your laundry in Gurukula?" We replied saying; "We used to wash our clothes by hand." And then Maharaj would say, "So, then you boys know what to do." We had no option but to wash our clothes by hand, so that Maharaj could save a few dollars to fly around the world. Besides, we were collecting the money.

Here comes a part of partiality. All the North American devotees doing book distribution had a day off to rest; read or catch up on their personal things but Maharaj refused to give us a day off saying, "we didn't collect as much money as all the other devotees." So we had to go out everyday. This was more like exploitation than devotional service. If Maharaj thought this was devotional service, I don't think he would have had a problem giving us a day off. Other devotees serving under him had that privilege. I demand an explanation from Romapad swami for this unjust behavior. We were out on the streets of New York City seven days a week during the summer's 90-95 degree heat and 15-20 degree cold weather in winter. It used to be so windy that we had to tie the books with rubber bands. All this was very difficult for us since we had just come out of Gurukula. The gurukula is only lucky to not have people like Romapada swami to train the kids.

As for winter clothes to wear, we were given clothes from an Indian life member owned dry cleaning place in Manhattan. We were given clothes that were left for months at this dry cleaning place. We had no idea whose clothes they were or which bum had worn them. As far as devotional clothing goes, we used to wear the dhotis of some New York temple devotees (I can give names of all those devotees, if necessary). And the socks we were given were used socks of His Holiness Romapad Swami. By the way, he wears Nike socks. But by the time we got them, they had holes. We were lucky to get some new socks during our second year may be Romapad swami found them on SALE!!!

Maharaj has this Expo program in which Govinda's Buffet has a food booth. We were the guys who had to sit in New York temple and roll samosas all day long in thousands. The preparations always began 3 days earlier. The vegetable cut- up would begin at 6:00 PM after a full day out on Sankirtan and finish by 12:00 mid night. Then we would take rest. The next day began at 6:30 am helping in the kitchen loading things. It was not easy to load 80-90 lbs. of buckets full of prasadam and go to the expo. Then we had to unload everything, setup the food, stay there or come back to the temple, so they could send us on book distribution. After book distribution, we had to go back to the food expo and bring everything back to the temple. By the time we got to bed, it was 12:00 mid night. The sad thing is that even after the 3 day's long Expo, Maharaj never felt obliged to give us a day off. So basically, we were back out on the streets with no break for months and months. The only days we got off were Janmastami, Gaura-purnima and maybe few other auspicious days. Oh boy, were we lucky to have those days off.

I know Maharaj outwardly saw this as prasadam distribution, but inwardly he knew he was making tons of money. If this was prasadam distribution, why wasn't this prasadam ever offered to Sri Radha Govinda? Why was this prasadam 3 months old from the last expo? The prasadam was kept frozen and it was heated up. Only the samosas were fresh because they would run out of them. We were supposed to be Govinda's Natural Food, 100% pure vegetarian, fresh organic vegan, and here we were selling old food. How could it be called prasadam, since it was not even offered to the deities?

I don't know if the Government Health Inspectors even know about this. So basically, the public was being cheated in the name of Govinda's Natural Food. I have enough evidence to backup what I'm saying if anyone think, I'm making this up. Making money is not wrong, but exploiting the general public is not what Prabhupada wanted. Even if the outside people were kept in darkness about the prasadam, why take advantage of us gurukulis or other senior devotees in the name of devotional service? And in whose pocket the money goes it's not even worth the discussion.

If devotees feel that this is some political thing against Romapad Swami, then let me ask you this: Where are all the 5-6 devotees that were serving under Romapada Swami? Why have they left his saintly association? There are quiet a lot of devotees who saw us go through this exploitation in the name of devotional service. No one speaks about these things because as soon as one says something about a Swami, 10 other devotees jump in and tell that you're making Vaisnava aparadha. I feel sorry for the new Devotees that join and then have to wait 10 years before they realize that's what's going on. I don't want to make a general statement about all the temple or all the devotees, but there are some devotees like Romapada Swami, that should definitely be avoided. It's more harmful for one's devotional creeper to serve under Romapada Swami.

He does water your devotional creeper, but it's with hot boiling water. And eventually, the creeper starts to die.

I should have mentioned all this earlier, but it was fear of some kind that kept me shut. Just like all the other abuses in Gurukula eventually floated to the surface, this cannot go unmentioned. As a gurukuli, it is my duty to let all the fellow gurukulis and well wishers know as to what the situation is and who to avoid. This is not a political thing but true facts that I went through.

When I look at all the past dealings with Romapad Swami, it makes me cry because we were treated not as human beings but as slaves. It is very very difficult to put the whole matter in writing but Maharaj's penny- like remarks has left heavy and deep feelings in me which is hard to forget.

I'd like to close by saying that I've no doubt that Maharaj will be rewarded for his obnoxious behavior. We have seen many past examples of this, and karma does catch up with everybody, someday. Maybe it could be today or tomorrow.

However, an action to prevent this from happening to other gurukulis and sincere devotees in the future will be appreciated.

Just a short note of what I'm doing these days:
I'm staying outside the temple with a devotee. Of course, it can never be compared to living in a temple, but I do feel greatly relieved from being exploited. I share an apartment with a devotee friend. I work for a Jewelry store in Manhattan . I go to a computer class few days a week and I plan to go to school in the near future and learn software engineering. After school, we'll see where life takes us.

If any one has any doubts or questions or comments, please feel free to write to me at this email address:

Thank you for all your support.
Yours in Krishna's service,
Arjuna dasa

No doubt, Romapada Swami will try to deny all the stories revealed on this website, or at least try and reconstruct the facts to cover-up any foul-play. However there can be no excuse why a sannyasi, guru, and GBC member should lie!

One can only wonder, why such a leader would do so in the first place, and then turn around, and expect to be recieved as a guru and big leader in ISKCON, and expect that he be worshiped even, by the very people he may be cheating? That itself is bombastic! If it is for his own political and self gain, then he is automatically disempowered as a bone fide representative of the guru param para, and should be dealt with properly by the other GBC authorities in ISKCON. Perhaps he is just another one of the many ISKCON historical victims of "power corrupts", and therefore needs some spiritual rectification and purification.

Another question may be asked, how could Romapada carry on in this way, for so long, for decades, with no proper investigation by someone else besides the unaccountable GBC members or unaccountable GBC body itself? Some of these stories have been circulated and undoubtedly heard of by the GBC before. The only answer is the main topic of this website - corruption in the GBC. Who on the GBC, is honest and brave enough, to begin to rid our ISKCON Society of this serious and detrimental quality of Kali Yuga, in the highest management position of ISKCON? Just how widespread is the problem? That we will all see.

In any case, to protect the members and especially leaders within ISKCON, from the "absolute power corrupts ansolutely" syndrome, some outside accountablity measures need to be also put into place by the GBC - NOW! And if they refuse to act on this imperative conclusion, then it is the job of the world-wide body of temple presidents, to demand that they do so.

APPENDIX: From the ISKCON Law Book

This website is dedicated to the many good Indian devotee families, who have been banned, indirectly by Romapada Swami, from even visiting the ISKCON Phoenix (Arizona) temple. Since It was he who orchestrated an unprecedented and unethical takeover of this temple back in 2007, which has resulted since then in disharmony and alianation of part of a congregation, we believe for his own personal benifit, he is ultimately responsible for these abuses of power. Our hearts go out to those devotees who have been banned, and they should know beyond a doubt that this is NOT the type of management Srila Prabhupada would allow, as he managed his spiritual Movement though love and trust. Eventually, Krishna will right the wrong. Hare Krishna.

You can't fool  all the people,

 all the time!
