Here are what some sannyasis and senior leaders of ISKCON say about the unfortunate presence of corruption in the GBC today.
The following remarks were made to me by these devotees, either by telephone conversation or emails. I am bringing their names into this topic and discussion on "corrution", as I now believe that this is too important an issue that needs to be resolved, rather than to try and keep the status quo, or try to keep a few of their disciples happy. I ask that they forgive me for that.
I believe that Srila Prabhupada would want and would expect his responsible disciples and followers to erase any traces of corruption in his GBC and thus better preserve ISKCON's future. I hope that there are more leaders in the Krishna Conciousness Movement that will speak up and cooperatively work to bring about more love and trust, and destroy the corruption that is present.
By saying all this, the corrupt ones within will most likely try and supress the truth and any reformative action, and may even try to banish me personally from ISKCON altogether. Yet I would rather stand on the side of truth and be counted as one of the insignificant devotees of ISKCON, who do care. This topic of present corruption is much more important than my being considered inside or so-called outside of ISKCON by a few who manipulate the GBC and who may be the very ones that are the subject of this concern.

"The main reason why the GBC is corrupt, is because they have chosen to change Srila Prabhupada's most sacred writings - his books. The GBC are the ones who are supposed to protect Srila Prabhupada's legacy. All problems in ISKCON stem from this offense to our spiritual master."

"Of course there's corruption
in the GBC. But what makes you think you are the one who is going to fix it?"
Senior ISKCON sannyasi / Guru
"We all know there's corruption in the GBC. But if you quote me on that, I will probably have to deny saying it."
BHAKTI VIKASA SWAMI
ISKCON Guru / author
"It seems inevitable that there will be corruption at all levels of leadership, but it is hard to prove or do anything about. And, of course, Srila Prabhupada would not approve it. It went on in Srila Prabhupada's presence and he nipped it whenever it came to his notice."

"I would expect some corruption
in the GBC. It is the material
world, it is Kali Yuga."
ISKCON Guru (?) / GBC member

"Ah. So this is one of the items, to vanquish all these racsals, so-called swamis. They say that, 'Why do you criticize others?' Because we have to vanquish them....That is one of our program." - His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada
